In 1883, some daring artists hired a model to pose unclothed, a practice then unheard of in Baltimore. 

Despite public outcry, the life sessions flourished. As the Club grew it became known for fine art exhibits, respected art classes, and lavish bohemian parties, popular among Baltimore’s elite.

True to the vision of its founding fathers, the Club continues to support traditional realism in fine art painting, drawing, and sculpture. Members hold art exhibits, maintain a life drawing and painting session, and support a variety of workshops for artists.  

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Life drawing sessions are taking an early summer break and will resume in the fall of 2010.
